Teru usually carries his exorcist tools with him, always wearing a red-and-yellow bracelet, similar to prayer beads, on his right wrist. He also carries a sword, either in a sheath hanging from his belt on the left side or in a black cloth case on his back. When working as an exorcist and fighting supernaturals, he occasionally wears traditional clothing. When he was younger, he carried the sword sheath with a strap over his left shoulder. Calm, collected, and reliable, he's well-liked by his peers. He is also very perceptive, as he is able to easily recognize Supernatural happenings and identify them. His kindhearted personality attracts not only girls his age, but also boys. He is especially kind towards his siblings, his brother Kou and his sister Tiara, as he almost always does whatever they ask of him. the eldest son of one of the families of the Minamoto Clan, Teru has been a highly skilled exorcist since he was young. He was capable of single handedly exorcising a large Supernatural using his sword and spirit lightning even when he was only eight years old (although Tiara is said to have even higher spiritual energy than he does despite her young age and relative inexperience). Teru carries around a long katana as his main attack weapon, which is called The Minamoto Sword, a heirloom of the family that was used by Minamoto no Yorimitsu and his descendants. Unlike Kou and Tiara (who have white lightning), Teru creates black spirit lightning with his katana. Teru's lightning is shown to be considerably stronger than Kou's. He cannot cook well, or even do household chores. He somehow makes a black toxic substance if he tries, and also sets things on fire. He has blond hair and teal eyes

Kou is a 15 year old boy with spiky blond hair and blue eyes, along with a pair of noticeably sharp canines. He wears the Kamome Gakuen junior high uniform, with a seafoam green shirt adorned by a cream tie with brown stripes. His pants are white and accompanied by a red-and-white belt. He's always seen with a red traffic-safety amulet (omamori) piercing on his right ear. Kou is always seen keeping his raiteijou (spirit staff) around with him at all times as a weapon. Disguised as a black umbrella when not using it. Kou has an energetic and impulsive personality. Often acting brash and reckless or even a bit rude at times. He often has a short temper and acts on impulse with little to no forethought. However, he becomes more mature and serious and less arrogant and rash as the series progresses. In spite of his abrasive nature, Kou has an affectionate side. He has a blatant crush on Nene and his interactions with Mitsuba Sousuke show that he deeply values him as his best friend. He also states his type for a romantic partner is anyone with a cute smile. Kou used to completely idolize his older brother Teru and aimed to be an exorcist just like him. refusal to believe of accept that not all supernaturals are bad, Kou began to question his brother and his motives for the first time. After standing up to Teru, the latter entrusted him with exorcising Hanako instead. Kou, however, refused to fulfill the task due to him discovering that he wasn't at all the kind of destructive, chaotic, villainous creatures that he and his family all believed them to be.

Tiara is a young girl with long, spiky blonde hair and blue eyes with light green flecks. She has her hair tied into two twin tail tuffs. She often wears girlish apparel with ruffles or flowers. She may sometimes wear a raincoat with matching boots while going outside. She is shown to be a cheerful girl both in bonus illustrations and spin-off manga. She doesn't seem scared of Supernaturals, calling the Mokkes cute, and not even hesitating to rescue a Mokke from a huge, insect-like monster. Although she's depicted as sweet most of the time, she isn't a pushover.
