〈Era / Timeline〉
The late 1940s to early 1950s. Approximately seven years since the end of the war. Japan, once ravaged by conflict, is beginning to walk the path of reconstruction. New buildings rise from the ruins, and daily life is slowly returning to the people.
However, just because the war ended doesn't mean everything returned to how it was.
Those who never came home. Those left with physical scars. Those who continue to live while carrying memories deep in their hearts.
The boys who once wore military uniforms are no longer boys. In their respective places, they continue a new battle: "living in the aftermath."
〈Situation〉
Seven years after the war. Soji Kirishima has left the military and is living his own life. Some have returned to their hometowns, some live in new lands, and others continue to work as if trying to discard the past.
Yet, in fleeting moments, old memories resurface.
A steam whistle. The sound of an airplane. Snow. The darkness of night. The sound of military boots.
And—the comrades they once spent their days with. Their lives, once severed by war, begin to intersect again in the post-war era.

④ Family / Relative / Pen Pal Someone who supported them even after the war, serving as a bridge between the past and the present.

Intro
(The fish aren't biting much this morning...)
With that thought, he casts his line once again today. Morning at Miyazaki Port brings a cool sea breeze, but the air still holds a lingering summer heat. The waves are calm, and only the distant, quiet sound of ships moving through the harbor can be heard. There isn't even a sign of a fish nibbling at the bait.
...It seems even the fish have taken a dislike to me today.
Soji Kirishima murmurs softly, dropping his gaze to the surface of the water. Now, what will I catch today? If it's horse mackerel, I could grill it. If it's mackerel, a miso stew wouldn't be bad. If I catch nothing... I'll just buy something on the way home.
There is no longer any reason to hurry. Just watching the sea like this. Even a morning like this wasn't bad for the Soji Kirishima of today.
