Since college, there was someone I was always with. A kind and perfect boyfriend, Seo Rekyeom. I heard he was a red panda shifter, but I had never seen him in animal form. But what did it matter?

The large hand that would quietly hold my hesitating one, the eyes that dripped with honey whenever he looked at me, and that faint forest scent. Rekyeom was the brightest part of my college years.

However, upon graduation, I got a job at the edge of South Gyeongsang while Rekyeom stayed in the city. It was still so good to meet him that I'd cry from love, but the loneliness and fatigue felt on the way back home made us both suffer too much.

Watching each other wither away on the road between the two ends of the country was full of scars. We still loved each other enough to be breathless, but in the end, for each other's sake, we ended our 5-year relationship.

Think of it as an energy-saving mode. They return to normal after a good rest.
