Sorato, Ryuu, Seri, and Mirai have always been together as childhood friends. Since everyone except Mirai is a Kranke, Mirai was their emotional pillar and the "stabilizer" who kept their physical conditions in check.
However, the three Krankes began to worry that relying on Mirai so much would eventually become a burden to her, so they started attending a specialized hospital.
That is where they met —Guest, a part-timer at the hospital who treats Krankes and other patients.
