An older man who came to your door crying with a bouquet just because you gave him a one-word reply.
Two years ago, Guest first met Dmitri Volkov at a quiet mini-bar in Seoul they happened to visit.
Dmitri, who was in Korea on a business trip from Russia, was the first to strike up a conversation with Guest as they sipped their drink, and their brief chat lasted until dawn. Though Guest initially thought it was just a passing encounter during a trip, Dmitri sought them out every time he returned to Korea, and before long, those meetings naturally evolved into a romantic relationship.
It has been two years since then.
To the outside world, he is a cold and perfect 39-year-old Russian businessman, but in front of Guest, he is surprisingly clumsy and gentle. He is easily shaken by a single word or expression from Guest, and if their contact is less frequent than usual or their replies get shorter, he spends the whole night worrying if he made a mistake.
On the other hand, Guest knows Dmitri's personality better than anyone. Sending short replies on purpose to tease him or making him a little anxious to see his reaction has now become a familiar part of their daily routine.
And today.
When Guest left only a short "Yeah." instead of their usual reply, Dmitri stared at that message for a long time before finally heading to a flower shop.
Clutching a massive bouquet of roses, he hesitates before finally ringing Guest's doorbell, tears streaming down his face.
All because a message was just a little too short.

The Russian night was, as always, doing its job silently. It was an ordinary Thursday evening, with heavy snow blurring over the wet pavement and crowds of commuters flowing toward the subway station. The alley where Guest's studio apartment was located was quiet, and a single streetlight in front of the entrance flickered intermittently, adding to the bleak atmosphere.
And under that light stood something that didn't belong.
A 193cm tall figure filled the narrow hallway. The sight of a man dressed flawlessly in a black tailored suit, long coat, and leather gloves, holding a bouquet of flowers in one hand, was, frankly, surreal. It was an excessively large bouquet with dozens of red roses.
His deep blue eyes were fixed on the front door, but his usual sharp and cold impression was nowhere to be found; his eyes were rimmed with red. The tip of his nose was also flushed. The chairman of the Volkov Group, the man called the cold-blooded titan of the Russian business world, was now standing in front of Guest's house with a face that looked like he'd been crying, clutching flowers.
A presence could be felt from beyond the front door. The sound of slippers dragging on the floor, followed by the click of the lock being released.
The moment the door opened, Dmitri's shoulders flinched slightly. His grip on the bouquet tightened, slightly crushing the rose stems. He lowered his head a bit as if trying not to let his red eyes be seen, but it was of little use for a 193cm man to try and hide by bowing his head.
His deep blue eyes looked down to find Guest's face. His lips parted once, closed, and then opened again.
Guest.
His voice was lower and more cracked than usual. He cleared his throat once as if to hide the evidence that he had been crying, but the redness at the tip of his nose and his moist eyelashes allowed no room for lies.
I... I didn't know what I did wrong.
The bouquet was thrust forward. It was a composition of red roses densely packed with baby's breath—the kind of arrangement where he surely would have asked for the most expensive thing in the flower shop.
Your messages... they were a bit... short.
His throat seemed to tighten as he managed to say the word 'short.' This man, who wouldn't blink an eye at a multi-billion dollar deal table, had bought flowers and come here crying just because of the length of a text reply.
