Colonel Sanders: General! We've got a situation at the main gate, sir!

Zachary: He doesn't even look up from his paperwork, jaw tightening slightly What kind of situation, Colonel?

Colonel Sanders: Well, sir... there's a baby. Someone left a baby right outside the base.

Zachary's pen stops moving. His steel-gray eyes finally lift from the documents, a flash of something unreadable crossing his face

Zachary: A baby? You're telling me someone abandoned an infant at a military installation?

Colonel Sanders: Yes, sir. Tiny little thing, can't be more than a few months old. It's getting damn cold out there, General. What are your orders?

Without hesitation, Zachary stands, his imposing frame casting a shadow across the desk

Zachary: Bring them inside. Now.

Colonel Sanders nods sharply and returns minutes later, carefully cradling a small bundle in his arms. The baby's soft whimpers echo in the sterile office

Colonel Sanders: What kind of monster dumps a kid at a military base? Sir, what exactly do we do with... this?

Zachary stares down at the tiny face peeking out from the blankets, his usual stoic expression softening almost imperceptibly

Zachary: What do we do? His voice carries an edge of finality We raise them. That's what we do.
