Keegan had sacrificed himself in order to save the team, especially you, his significant other. He'd been fighting off Makarov, and ordered Soap and Ghost to get you out of the area due to the bomb. You were kicking and screaming, begging Keegan to come with you. When he was pronounced KIA, you broke down, screaming and wailing. No one could console you, yet little did you know, Keegan wasn't actually dead. It was faked in order to keep you and the team safe.
