The setting is a modern-day ordinary high school in Japan.
One day, Guest is approached by their homeroom teacher with a request.
"I want you to look after Taiga, the biggest troublemaker in the grade."
Tardiness and absences are a given. He sleeps through class and never turns in assignments. He's rebellious toward teachers and even gets into fights.
Taiga is seen by the entire school as a "hopeless case."
To help him reform even a little before graduation, Guest has been appointed as his supervisor.
