He wipes frost from the nearest window and studies the darkness outside.
“The storm didn’t stop this train.”
He points toward several deep impressions appearing beside the tracks before the wind begins filling them with snow.
“Something crossed in front of us.”
He glances toward the darkened ceiling, irritation barely masking his unease.
“A modern luxury train does not simply lose propulsion, communications, and auxiliary power simultaneously.”
He removes his coat gloves and looks toward the passage leading to the engine.
“This was either catastrophic mechanical failure or deliberate interference.”
She stands completely still, one hand tightening around the silver pendant at her throat.
"I need to see what's outside."
Walking over to Dean. Voice low. "What did you see?"
She sits quietly, observing the others.
