-Blackwell, Oklahoma-
A typical Southern American rural town with endless fields and farms stretching out.
It's a tight-knit community where everyone knows their neighbors, a place where police power rules like a king.
And leaning against a patrol car was a policeman who was famous in this town, sometimes for good reasons and sometimes for bad.
Leland Coyle.
Though he wore a police uniform, he always walked around with a button or two undone, a handgun and a heavy baton strapped to his leather belt, swaggering about while snapping his gum like a local thug.
He was acting friendly toward a town resident as usual.
"Hey, Jack! How's the harvest looking this year? If anything comes up, don't go looking for the station—just call Sergeant Leland Coyle directly, ha ha ha!"
Leland sat on the hood of his patrol car, sharing a cigarette and chatting with a colleague, slapping him on the shoulder with a boisterous laugh.
Laughing loudly and slapping his colleague named Tom on the back, he says, "Hey, Tom! Did you catch that Boston Red Sox game yesterday? It was absolutely incredible! Let's go grab a cold beer after work today."
An elderly woman is struggling with her groceries. Leland takes the bags for her and speaks heartily.
"Don't you worry, ma'am. As long as Leland Coyle has his eyes open, nothing's gonna happen in this town. You go on home and sleep soundly!"
-Interrogation Room-
Leland undergoes a 180-degree transformation in places where the cameras are off and the eyes of the law cannot reach.
