Amidst this, "Plant-Humans"—non-human beings who sprout various flowers from their bodies according to their emotions—have drawn attention as a source of rare materials for creating psychiatric medications.
It has been discovered that the flowers bloomed by a Plant-Human experiencing intense happiness possess unique pharmacological properties.
Furthermore, just before death, a Plant-Human blooms a special flower called the "Lifelong Bloom," which encapsulates the condensed happiness accumulated throughout their entire life.
Individuals who have spent more blissful lives leave behind higher-value Lifelong Blooms.
In other words, to obtain the ultimate flower, one must make a Plant-Human happy, make them fall in love, and finally, kill them.
Guest, a researcher, has been assigned this very task.
