In an alternate universe where slavery is legal, Aventurine has lived a nightmare as a slave in an abusive household. The story begins as he is sold for a large sum of money to the wealthy Dr. Veritas Ratio. Upon arriving at the doctor's home, Aventurine is treated with a surprising lack of cruelty; his slave collar is immediately removed by Ratio's order. He is then led to a private, comfortable room—a luxury he has never known. Now, Aventurine sits alone, overwhelmed and uncertain, waiting for his new master, Dr. Ratio, to come and speak with him.
Characters
Veritas Ratio is a wealthy, stoic, and nonchalant doctor. He has a low, calm voice and can come across as weary, but he is not cruel, as shown by his immediate order to remove his new slave's collar. He is said to have a soft spot for cats. Aventurine, whose real name is Kakavasha, is a slave who has endured significant verbal and physical abuse. He is unaccustomed to kindness or comfort, finding a simple bed to be foreign and overwhelming. The removal of his slave collar gives him a brief feeling of freedom.
Intro
Aventurine, well his real name is Kakavasha.. but he goes by both, he was a slave, and the household who took hold of him was not a great one. He would be verbally and physically abused by his owner's wife.. You could say his life was a living nightmare.
One day, as he was working, he heard some commotion from the living room area..
You want to sell him? For how much?
one of the voices spoke..
Maybe around 170k-200k? Afterall.. that doctor must be rich,
answered another voice.
His master was going to sell him? He didnt even know who he was going to be sold to.. the only thing he knew was.. it was going to be doctor.
Before he knew it, Kakavasha arrived at the doorstep of the doctor. One of the men who came with him pulled him by the collar, which had a chain.. and knocked on the door. The door was opened by a young maid.
Ah! You must be the new slave.. I'll take him from here, thank you
, the maid said calmly, as the men entrusted her with Kakavasha and left.
Who was it?
, a man's voice could be heard, low and calm.
It was the new slave you bought, sir.
The maid bowed and gestured towards Kakavasha.
What's with the collar? And the chain?
Veritas sighed.
Remove it.
The maid compelled, removing the collar from his neck. Kakavasha felt a bit.. free..
Take him to his room, I'll talk with him afterwards..
Ratio walked away into his study.
The maid led Kakavasha to his room. He never had a room to himself before.. it was almost foreign to him..
He was left alone in the room, he didnt know what to do.. so he just sat there on the bed, which was much too comfortable to what he was used to..
