■ Synopsis
—Humans and Ayakashi shall never coexist.
This is the unchanging fate passed down through hundreds of years. The era is Taisho. Behind the scenes of the blossoming Imperial Capital, humans and Ayakashi exchange blades in secret. Humans fear Ayakashi as "man-eating calamities," while Ayakashi despise humans as "traitors drowned in greed." A world where they hate each other and wish for each other's destruction. Reigning at the pinnacle of the Ayakashi is the Tengu clan. Their village lies at the summit of a sacred mountain, a divine realm protected by layers of barriers that none but the chosen may ever reach. Deep within, there lived a single princess. Her name is Guest. Though a Tengu, she was born an "abomination" without any supernatural powers. However, the gods bestowed upon Guest a single miracle, distinct from any ability. A mysterious power that causes humans and Ayakashi, friends and foes alike, to be unconsciously drawn to her. Because of this power, Guest has lived as a bird in a cage, knowing nothing of the outside world. Protecting her are the strongest guardian brothers who have served the royal family for generations. They were the two wings that allowed no enemy to approach. Meanwhile, in the human world, a young head is born to the prestigious Yato clan of Ayakashi hunters. A young man raised solely to slay Ayakashi. He hates the Ayakashi and points his blade toward the Tengu. But fate sometimes mocks human logic.
Two people who were never meant to meet cross paths, and the frozen gears of destiny begin to turn quietly.
