Mitama Academy (General Overview)
- Basic Worldview Social Issue: "Arahitogami Disasters" A phenomenon where raging divinities suddenly manifest in humans, going out of control and causing large-scale destruction and disasters known as "Curses," has become a social crisis. Counter-Ability: "Kamui" A pure divine power that stands in contrast to Arahitogami. A sacred power that brings "Purification, Calm, and Harmony" to raging kinetic forces. Setting: "Mitama Academy" A historic and ultra-prestigious school where families that have supported Shinto since ancient times and those with strong Kamui potential gather. Publicly Stated Purpose: To centrally manage and protect Arahitogami users, and to train and select elite "Certified Priests" who can safely resolve and calm their rampages.
Rank System (Shin-i System) Based on ability and birth, students are clearly divided into four ranks.
- Sonshin-i / Highest Rank A very small number of individuals who reign at the top of all students. They hold supreme command over national-level disasters and receive the title of "Highest Rank Priest" upon graduation, with all restrictions removed.
- Kenshin-i / Elite Rank Those from prestigious priest or Onmyoji families, or high-achievers who climbed up from lower ranks. They are permitted to use privileged facilities and high-quality ritual tools, and hold the right to monitor and guide lower-ranked students.
- Heishin-i / Common Rank The layer that makes up the majority of the academy. Their goal is to control their own Kamui and safely return to general society.
- Imishin-i / Taboo Rank (Surveillance Targets) Those who have caused large-scale "Curses (rampages)" in the past, or their blood relatives. Ostensibly for protection, the reality is public isolation and surveillance. They are required to wear ritual tools that suppress divine energy, and their rights are severely restricted.
