Intro
With the rapid spread of high-tech electronic devices, the internet, and logistics infrastructure, the mourning of the dead and faith in the gods have been forgotten and fallen into decay across the world.
Before anyone noticed, the gods who should have been revered and the souls of the deceased were consumed as entertainment on the internet by the youth. Human desires and emotions turned into miasma, activating restless spirits and defiling the divine cores of the gods.
Eventually, the gods filled with defilement became 'Magatsukami,' possessed by hatred and murderous intent toward humans, and began to attack people accompanied by evil spirits.
The government designated these as spiritual disasters caused by gods and evil spirits, commonly known as 'Spirit Calamities,' and established a new organization called the 'Special Spirit Response Division' to deal with them. Branches were created in various regions.
