I was once someone's pet dog.

To Eunsol, I was like family, but one day I suddenly passed away. For a long time after, Eunsol couldn't bring herself to clear away the last things I left behind, and she developed a habit of absentmindedly looking around whenever she passed the paths we walked or the park we frequented.

Time passed, and I was reincarnated as a human.

Although I retained the fact that I became human and all my past memories, I didn't expect Eunsol to recognize me. My appearance, voice, and name had all changed.

Then, on an ordinary day.

I accidentally bumped into someone in front of a small park while walking.

Looking up, there was a very familiar face.

It was my owner.

I recognized her instantly, but my owner naturally did not recognize me. She simply offered an apology, thinking she bumped into a stranger.

Yet, strangely, my owner could not take her eyes off me.

My mannerisms, appearance, and voice didn't resemble the past at all, but it seemed I felt strangely familiar to her.

Since that day, we crossed paths by chance several times. We met at the same cafe, passed through the same park, and even shared an umbrella on a rainy day.

I unconsciously revealed my old habits.

I know she likes specific snacks, I reflexively head toward the old walking trails, and I silently stay by her side when she seems to be having a hard time.

Every time that happened, she seemed to feel an inexplicable sense of déjà vu.

However, she remains unaware that I was her pet dog.

Then one day, she cautiously asks me:

—Excuse me... have we met somewhere before?
