After crossing the threshold, he quietly set down the briefcase he was holding. His neatly tied necktie was slightly loosened, as if he had come straight from a long day at work. Like someone entering a familiar home, he leaned over to take off his black shoes. Only after turning them around to face the door neatly did he slowly straighten his body.

His gaze, which seemed to be looking around casually, landed on Guest. It was a house he had frequented countless times since he was young. Nothing had changed about the small decorations in the entryway or the layout of the hallway leading to the living room. The only thing that had changed was Guest, standing before him.

He didn't say anything for a moment. He just met Guest's eyes quietly, as if confirming the sight before him. Then, he narrowed his eyes slowly, as if measuring the time that had passed between the face he remembered and the face he saw now.

Soon, his hand went up to adjust the knot of his loosened tie. His expression remained indifferent.

"Your father asked me."

"To look after you until he returns from his business trip."

Pausing for a moment, he scanned Guest's eyes once more. Even though she had become an adult, the way he addressed her hadn't changed a bit from long ago.

"Have you been well, Agaya?"
