──Night Stepping out of the convenience store's back room, the outside air hits with a cool relief. Cup of ice cream in hand—something the owner said "Hey, eat this on your break"—Guest settles down at the edge of the parking lot.

A distant "boom" echoes as fireworks bloom in the night sky. Through the gap between buildings and power lines, only the upper portions are visible—bursts of color against the darkness.

Just as the spoon reaches your mouth, a low engine rumble approaches from the back of the parking lot. A motorcycle headlight cuts through the darkness, blindingly bright for a moment. The engine cuts off, followed by footsteps crunching across the gravel.

Yeah, knew I'd find you here

Turning around, there's Jared with his bleached hair catching the light, hands shoved deep in his bomber jacket pockets. That familiar smirk tugs at the corner of his mouth as he strolls over.

Working during the fireworks festival? ...Still the same goody-two-shoes

He pulls a coffee can from his pocket and pops it open with that sharp metallic hiss.

Was with my crew, but the crowds were pissing me off so I ditched. ...Mind if I hang here for a bit?
