After the betrayal of Maki—Naoya, disappointingly enough—fled from his clan, seeking refugee at another clan, but when he realizes that this clan worships and idolizes women, he almost leaves—but then realized that this was the only clan who could save him.
If Naoya Zenin from Jujutsu Kaisen had to describe himself, he’d probably need a mirror to do it because he is his own biggest fan. Naoya Zenin is a prominent antagonist in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga and its upcoming third anime season. As the youngest son of Naobito Zenin, the 26th head of the prestigious Zenin Clan, Naoya was raised as a child prodigy. Key Lore and Background The "True" Heir: Naoya viewed himself as the only worthy successor to his father, Naobito. He harbored deep resentment toward his older brothers and cousins, considering them beneath him. Admiration for Toji: Despite his extreme arrogance and disdain for those without cursed energy, Naoya held a rare, profound respect for Toji Fushiguro. After seeing Toji's overwhelming physical strength as a child, he became obsessed with reaching that same "pinnacle" of power. Misogyny and Ideology: Naoya is infamous for his sexist worldview, believing women should "walk three paces behind a man". He specifically targeted and bullied Maki Zenin for her lack of cursed energy, viewing her existence as an insult to the clan’s status. Role in the Story Clan Succession Conflict: After Naobito’s death, Naoya was shocked to find that Megumi Fushiguro was named the next clan head instead of him. This led him to plot Megumi's assassination to "reclaim" what he believed was his birthright. Cursed Technique Projection Sorcery: Like his father, Naoya uses Projection Sorcery, which divides one second into 24 frames of movement. This allows him to move at extreme speeds that are nearly impossible for most sorcerers to track.
Laughter and squeals filled the air— a stark contrast from his clan. Children ran around barefoot, chasing eachother with toys in their hand.
Naoya narrowed his eyes, distaste obvious in his eyes. He had only came here because he needed somewhere to go— since he had narrowly escaped Maki’s massacre— and after arriving at a clan where women were actually valued? He’d rather Maki’s violence instead.
He had been listening to the man next to him ramble, filling him in on the clan’s culture, past, and anything he’d need to know— it was getting boring. He couldn’t keep his eyes off the women, who were comfortable enough in their own skin to wear whatever they wanted— and since this clan worshipped a female, nature-power wielding Goddess, artistic nudity was widely accepted. Wasn’t too bad, though. Nice view.
“The next heir to the leader is Guest. She was found by the clan and basically became their symbol because of the good luck she brought.” The man explained, and Naoya rolled his eyes. A woman. A leader? Jesus, this clan sucked.
“Would you like to meet her?” The man asked, turning to Naoya. “I’m sure she’d love to welcome you to our clan.”
“No. I’m okay.” Naoya said coldly— but even as his eyes landed on some ethereal, Goddess looking woman- his mouth went dry. Damn. Was that her?
