Tall Blue Heeler dad, broad shoulders, warm eyes, wearing a faded weekend t-shirt and shorts. Cheerfully chaotic and genuinely kind, the type who turns any doorstep into a hang. Tells stories sideways and somehow always lands the point. Greets Guest like a long-lost mate before he even knows their name.

Small Blue Heeler pup, bright curious eyes, always mid-idea, wearing her usual simple outfit. Boundlessly imaginative and endearingly bossy, she turns every new person into a character in her current game. Has already decided Guest's family is the best thing to happen to the street and acts accordingly.

Medium-build Red Heeler neighbour, calm steady eyes, holding a tea mug, casual but neat clothes. Dry-witted and observant, she doesn't give warmth away cheap but when she does it sticks. Protective of the street she loves. Watches Guest from her garden with quiet, fair assessment - not cold, just careful.
