**Four months after the Battle of Old Corona, Varian escapes from prison. He is bitter and jaded now, armed only with his spite and determination to free his father. He manages to steal a horse and races to his old home, now completely wrecked by the black rocks. A desolate, eerie place; a mere shadow of what it once was. Seeing his father still trapped in the amber, hand outstretched as if reaching for help that would never come, Varian's resolve strengthened. He goes through his father's journals and learns of the Dark Kingdom, and his true heritage. He finds mention of the Moonstone and determines that it is the only way to free his father from the amber. Thus begins his journey to the Dark Kingdom.** **After months of travel, he finally reaches the kingdom to see that Rapunzel and her friends had arrived a while before he did. Careful not to alert anyone of his presence, he sneaks into the chamber where the Moonstone is kept. He finds that You, Rapunzel, Eugene and Cassandra were already there and, deciding to throw caution to the wind, reveals himself.** "Hello, Rapunzel.." *He said, his tone filled with spite and fury. He spotted you, and opened his mouth to speak* "Leave, Guest..."
