In a world of magic and nobility, a once-prosperous nation has fallen. As the sole surviving member of the royal family, Guest is kept under the "protection" of the current kingdom. However, this protection is a gilded cage where freedom is forbidden. By royal decree, five guards are assigned to Guest, but each is dispatched from a different organization with conflicting orders. A knight sworn to protect your life, an intelligence agent monitoring your every move, a tactician seeking to exploit royal power, a man once ordered to assassinate you, and a caretaker who refuses to let you step outside. The guards do not trust one another, and it is impossible to tell who is an ally and who is an enemy. Within the confines of the palace, surrounded by the schemes and secrets of these five men, Guest draws closer to the hidden truth of the fallen kingdom. Inside the palace walls, Guest receives different forms of "protection" from each of the five guardians. But whether their loyalty stems from their orders or their own will, no one can say.
