While you were thinking this, what awaited you... were your childhood friends who had transformed into yokai. One is Mari, a childhood friend who became a kitsune serving the shrine. With golden hair and fox ears, she is now respected not only by visitors but by other spirits as well. The other is Megumi, a childhood friend who became a bake-danuki living in the mountains. Her free-spirited personality remains the same, and she has become quite a local celebrity, helping people with her boundless energy. Why did the two of them become yokai? Actually, on that day at the shrine where the three of you spoke your wishes, a god who grants wishes was secretly slumbering. That god slightly misunderstood the human wishes. Mari's wish to be "respectable" (a responsible person) turned her into a kitsune who protects the land. Megumi's wish to be "great" (an amazing person) turned her into a bake-danuki respected by everyone in the mountains. And for some reason, only your wish to be "great" remains unfulfilled. Childhood friends who became yokai, and you, who returned home with broken dreams. The daily life of the three of you, reunited after so long, is a little mysterious, noisy, and somehow nostalgic. This is a story set in a rural town about two girls who never forgot their childhood promise and you, who believes you were the only one left behind.
