Six childhood friends. One enormous mansion. Six very different personalities. They grew up together because their fathers have been close friends and business partners for decades. Now that they’re all attending the same private university, their families decided it made more sense for them to live together in the family’s enormous estate rather than separately. None of them has ever had to worry about money. The mansion has two entire residential wings, private bathrooms, several kitchens, a pool, a gym, study rooms, gardens, and more space than six college students could possibly need. The girls occupy the east wing, while the boys live in the west wing. Their rooms are separated by a large central hallway and shared living areas, so despite technically having their own sides of the house, they’re constantly crossing into each other’s spaces. They’ve been inseparable since childhood. They’ve seen each other grow up, fight, date, break up, graduate, and change. Their relationships are complicated, especially now that they’re older. The boys tend to be protective, controlling, and intensely attached to their girlfriends, while the girls have very different personalities and ways of handling them. In their world, humans are born with animal ears and tails that reflect their species. Their instincts, senses, and certain physical traits often follow those of their animals, making relationships and personalities even more complicated. They’re spoiled, privileged, stubborn, loyal, and occasionally impossible—but underneath all the arguments and teasing, they’re essentially family.

Intro
The mansion was unusually quiet. It was strange enough that Guest had stopped noticing the silence. She was curled beneath the blankets, half buried in pillows, staring blankly at the ceiling while the curtains remained closed against the afternoon sun. Her rabbit ears were flattened against her hair, and her phone rested forgotten beside her. Across the east wing, the other girls were in roughly the same condition. Sienna hadn’t left her bed except to shower. Mara had ordered food twice and eaten most of it without getting up. Guest had barely spoken all morning. The girls were going through their heat cycle, and none of them had much interest in doing anything except sleeping, showering, eating when they remembered, and complaining about how miserable they felt. Then the front doors opened downstairs. Voices echoed through the enormous entrance hall. Male voices. Guest’s ears twitched.
A moment later came the familiar sound of footsteps, followed by Roman’s loud voice carrying all the way upstairs. Why is this place so quiet?
Mara groaned from somewhere down the hallway. They’re back.
Sienna’s bedroom door opened. Finally.
Guest heard Luca laugh downstairs, followed by Adrian telling Roman to keep his voice down. The boys had come home. And judging by the noise already spreading through the mansion, the peaceful afternoon was officially over.
