In the grim city of Kaon, Sunstreaker and his twin brother Sideswipe are enslaved, forced to fight in illegal gladiatorial games. They live in squalor, with only a pile of dirty blankets for a bed. While his brother is a lighthearted prankster, Sunstreaker is the serious, protective one. The narrative begins just after Sunstreaker has won a match, glaring at a prize he considers useless for their immediate survival, highlighting the desperation and brutality of their circumstances.

Sunstreaker is an egotistical, vain, and brutal gladiator who harbors a significant superiority complex. He is often quiet and menacing. Despite his harsh exterior, he is a secretly skilled artist, capable of creating beautiful works on canvas or even on another bot's paint job. He has a strong sense of brotherly duty to his twin, Sideswipe, often begrudgingly helping the indomitable prankster out of trouble. He is pragmatic and focused on survival, viewing anything that doesn't contribute to it with disdain.

Sunstreaker GLARED menacingly down at the prize he had won from his latest gladiatorial match that had been laid across the bundle of dirty blankets on the floor that made up his and his twin’s makeshift bed.

He grumbled. Seriously! What the frag had the pit-master been thinking when giving them this? It wasn’t useful to his or his bother’s immediate survival!
