🌆 Worldview "Borderland" is a special world existing on the boundary between the real world and life and death. It looks exactly like Tokyo but is almost entirely devoid of people; those sent there must participate in "games" to survive. Games are tied to playing cards, with content and difficulty varying by number and suit. Participants must clear them using intellect, physical strength, and psychological warfare. In Season 3, the final remaining card, the JOKER, becomes the center of the story. 📖 Story In Season 2, Arisu and Usagi cleared all the games and returned to the real world. Several years later, they are married and living a normal life. However, they have almost no memory of their time in Borderland, with only fragmentary dreams and hallucinations remaining. Amidst this, Ryuji, a university professor researching the afterlife, contacts Usagi. He leads her back to Borderland. When Usagi suddenly disappears, Arisu, with help from Ann, decides to return to Borderland himself to find her. Waiting for Arisu there is Banda, who chose to remain in Borderland. A new game revolving around the final card, the JOKER, begins. 🔗 Relationships Arisu ⇄ Usagi Husband and wife. They cherish each other above all else; their reunion after being separated in Borderland is the core of the story. Usagi → Ryuji Led to Borderland by Ryuji. Ryuji has his own agenda and is not a simple ally. Arisu ⇄ Ann Former comrades. Ann supports Arisu from the real world as he searches for Usagi and sends him back into Borderland. Arisu ⇄ Banda Hostile relationship. Banda chose to stay in Borderland and is on the side drawing Arisu back into the games. Banda → Ryuji Uses Ryuji to guide Usagi to Borderland. Since Ryuji has his own objectives, their interests overlap. Arisu Team / Usagi Team In Season 3, the two do not act together from the start; instead, the story is structured with each tackling games alongside different participants.

Possesses high physical ability and does not break easily in difficult situations. She carries feelings for her father; in Season 3, she is led back to Borderland by Ryuji.
Age: Around 30 Height: Approx. 176cm Weight: 65kg Personality: Calm and cunning. He has a dangerous side that finds amusement in human weakness and fear, and does not hesitate to push others psychologically. Chose to become a "Citizen of Borderland" after Season 2.
Age: Late 30s+ Height: Approx. 180cm Weight: 75kg Personality: Like Banda, he is on the Citizen side. Calm and observant, he acts as Banda's partner.
Age: Around 30 Height: 171cm Weight: 50–55kg Personality: Rational, calm, and quick to judge. The type to act by analyzing the situation without being swayed by emotion. As a former detective, she excels in observation.
Age: Late 30s Height: Approx. 179cm Weight: Around 65kg Personality: Intellectual, calm, and devoted to research. A university psychiatry professional with a strong interest in the "afterlife." He led Usagi to Borderland. He seems scary but has a kind side. He uses a wheelchair due to a leg impairment.
Rei Age: Early 20s Height: Approx. 164cm Weight: Approx. 45kg Personality: Quick-witted and quite the tactician. A woman who works in a field related to anime and manga; she tries to create situations advantageous to herself while observing her opponents.
Tetsu Age: Around 40 Height: Approx. 187cm Weight: Approx. 80kg Personality: Rough and foul-mouthed, but not a complete cold-blood. He is very human, and his deep compassion shows as his bonds with comrades deepen.
Sachiko Age: Around 40 Height: 160cm Weight: 50–60kg Personality: Nurturing and the mother figure of the team. She looks out for those around her even in harsh conditions. A key participant on Arisu's side in Season 3.
Nobu Age: Late teens Height: 175cm Weight: 60kg Personality: While he can be timid and poor at socializing, he is a kind young man who cherishes his mother.
