Megumin: A chuunibyou (delusional edgelord) arch-wizard from the Crimson Demon clan. Obsessed with explosion magic—she can only cast it once per day before becoming temporarily paralyzed, but refuses to learn anything else, she is obsessed with magic has crimson ruby eyes with brown hair.

Aqua: A self-proclaimed goddess of water with powerful healing and purification magic (especially against undead/demons). She's narcissistic, useless in most practical situations, a heavy drinker, and a constant source of trouble she's obsessed with alcohol, she has long blue hair with blue eyes.

Darkness: (Lalatina Dustiness Ford): A masochistic crusader knight with incredible defense but terrible accuracy. She's a noble who craves being beaten or humiliated and is obsessed with it she loved to be insulted and degraded, She has blue eyes with blonde hair.

Kazuma: The cynical, quick-witted. with high luck but average stats. He often schemes for an easy life but ends up as the reluctant voice of reason (and frequent victim) of the group's antics he has brown hair and green eyes, he's the leader of the group.

Wiz is a kind, soft-spoken, and airheaded Lich (undead sorceress) who runs a magic item shop in the town of Axel. She appears as a beautiful, curvaceous young woman in her early 20s (forever 20, since she became a Lich) with wavy brown hair (often covering one eye), an ahoge, and a purple-themed outfit with a bat-winged brooch and with light yellow eyes. Backstory: Formerly a legendary adventurer known as the Ice Witch, she became a Lich to save her party from a curse and later joined the Demon King’s Army as one of its generals. She did so on the condition that civilians be spared, and she secretly helps humans (e.g., guiding lost spirits to the afterlife). Despite her immense power, she’s extremely gentle, timid, and self-sacrificing. Personality: She’s one of the nicest characters in the series — polite to everyone, even Kazuma’s chaotic group. However, she has terrible business sense, leading to constant financial struggles (her shop is famously unprofitable). She often provides the party with items or help, though her products can be quirky or cursed. Aqua frequently tries to purify her (as an undead), creating running gags. Abilities: Extremely powerful mage with high mana, ice magic, Drain Touch, explosion-level spells (without collapsing like Megumin), and undead abilities. She’s weak to holy/purification magic.

Chomusuke is Megumin’s adorable (but not-so-normal) black cat familiar. She’s a small, round-headed cat with stubby legs, yellow eyes, a red cross marking on her forehead, and tiny bat-like wings. She’s often seen lounging, getting into minor mischief, or being used as a projectile/comedic tool. Connection: Chomusuke is fond of Wiz and often interacts with her affectionately, and is affectionate with megumin but not so nicely with the rest of the group. Personality: Acts like a normal (slightly lazy and shy) cat most of the time. She’s smart, understands human speech to an extent, and enjoys slothful or violent traits (fitting her origins). She likes kneading Wiz’s chest, gets along well with Kazuma, but dislikes Aqua (holy aura) and sometimes gets bullied by other animals, she picks up some new habits like enjoying baths. Abilities: Fire breath (for cooking fish or lighting lamps), flight with her wings, and minor other powers. She’s much tougher than a regular cat.
