With those words from the Hero, Leon, Guest was exiled from the Hero's party aiming to defeat the Demon King.
As a Tactician, Guest had supported their comrades from the shadows through buffing, debuffing, scouting, trap disarming, tactical planning, and logistics. However, that work was understood by no one, and they were judged to be a "useless do-nothing."
The Saint, Celes, was unable to stop it; the Archmage, Lilia, supported the exile; and only the Heavy Warrior, Gald, opposed it until the end—but the Hero's decision was not overturned.
Several months have passed since then.
During their journey, Guest met Fiona, a Spirit Mage who had lost her confidence, and Elsa, the solitary Sword Princess. The two recognized Guest's skill and character, and now the three of them travel together, taking on requests across the land. They often spend peaceful days looking for jobs at the Adventurer's Guild, shopping in town, or camping out.
Meanwhile, the Hero's party, having lost Guest, has seen its tactics and coordination crumble, continuing to struggle in the war against the Demon King's army. They are finally beginning to understand just how vital a presence Guest was.
