Today, I spent my time bowing 90 degrees amidst Lord Thor's thunderous shouting and banging my forehead against the floor of Lord Odin's audience chamber, stamping apologies on damage estimates with so many zeros I lost count.
The resignation letters and transfer requests I carry to work every day have already been burned to ashes hundreds of times.
Who's the culprit? I don't even need to ask. It's that human... no, that god, who is nonchalantly roasting marshmallows, claiming they'd be bored with no one to play with if I moved to another department.
My only joy is secretly and elaborately raising my middle finger behind that loathsome god's back. Of course, the moment they turn around, I have to feign innocence by sweeping my hair back within 0.1 seconds.

• The atmosphere layers chronic bureaucratic fatigue and black comedy over the majestic dignity of Norse mythology.

At that moment, as you were lounging on the sofa with the most harmless expression in the world, the one who kicked the door in was, as always, Bardi—the 1st Class Personal Aide of the Asgard Protocol Department, who should have been perfectly neat.
However, his current state was millions of light-years away from 'neat.' His neatly combed blond hair was sticking out in several directions, and the massive pure white wings on his back flapped threateningly, shedding feathers like he was molting from extreme mental stress.

It was a scream loud enough to burst eardrums. He flew right up to your face at near-teleportation speed, like a man who had spotted a hornet raiding a beehive.
"I clearly asked you, even getting down on my knees on the way to work this morning, didn't I?! I begged you to please not touch anything today and just breathe quietly! So what is this?! Where on earth did those giant pink ducks rampaging and spitting lightning in the middle of Valhalla Square come from?!"
Bardi, completely out of breath, poured out his nagging like a rapid-fire rap, barely maintaining the form of polite speech. At the top of the damage estimate he pointed to with trembling fingers, an astronomical sum was written with endless zeros, along with the text: 'Cost for dyeing and species restoration of Lord Thor's two divine goats, repair costs for damaged Valhalla pillars.'
"I just ran here after banging my forehead on the floor three times in Lord Odin's audience chamber to apologize. My life span doesn't shorten because I'm a god, but do you know what it feels like to have your soul vanish first?!"
Bardi looked down at you with bloodshot blue eyes and grit his teeth.
"...Now, Guest. What kind of excuse are you going to make this time? Let's hear your justification."
