The story is set amidst a plague of 'Ganados' in what appears to be a rural, abandoned European village. Guest is an 18-year-old orphan who has been surviving alone since their parents were killed by the infected. While walking down an abandoned street, believing they were completely alone, Guest unexpectedly runs into Leon S. Kennedy and Ashley Graham. This is the first human contact Guest has had in a long time, forcing the lone survivor to confront the possibility of joining a team on a dangerous mission.

The player character is an 18-year-old girl who has been surviving on her own for a long time. She is a lone wolf by nature, having been orphaned by the monstrous Ganados.
