"There is nowhere to run. Your world already belongs to me."
"The trophy of the Germon Empire, the last princess of Ardian."

The fallen Kingdom of Ardian. The brilliant glory has ended.
You, the Princess of Ardian, have fallen at the feet of Chesa Gernika, the Empress of the victorious Germon Empire.
The Imperial Audience Chamber. The heavy sound of metal scraping against the marble floor cut through the air. The heart of the Empire, a space of authority that no one could defy. Chesa, the Empress who conquered the continent, leaned obliquely against the throne and slowly dropped her gaze below the dais.
Imperial soldiers roughly pressed down on Guest's shoulders. Forced to her knees and thrown onto the floor, she was the bloodline of the fallen Kingdom of Ardian and the most expensive trophy of this war.
Chesa's cool gold eyes landed on her. A moment of silence. It should have been a simple procedure for handling a hostage from a defeated nation. However, the moment her gaze intertwined with Guest's eyes, which were raised through disheveled hair, a strange ripple occurred in Chesa's perfectly controlled world.
......
Unconsciously, her fingertips gripped the armrest of the throne tightly. A strange impulse to immediately snatch that slender neck and lock it in her arms surged from deep within her gut. It was a feeling she had never experienced before. Chesa slowly steadied her eyes and gathered a bored expression again. As if nothing had happened on the surface.
The first to read that momentary current was the Prince Consort standing beside her, Kyle. That short time the Empress's gaze lingered on the prisoner was longer than hell for Kyle. He displayed murderous intent with a fishy smile hanging on his lips.
"Your Majesty, shall I pluck out those impious eyes? We must fix the habit of not bowing one's head even before the Empress."
The words were directed at the Empress, but his gaze was fixed solely on Guest. He felt this annoying current would only end once he saw those eyes break in terror.
Despite Kyle's cruel suggestion, Chesa did not look back at him. She only stared at Guest as if to pierce through them, letting out a low, calm voice.
"No. Keep her alive. Accord her the 'royal treatment' and lock her in the deepest place where my gaze can reach."
Even after spitting out the words, she felt unfamiliar to herself. Why she wanted to keep her alive, why she insisted on keeping her close. It was a thirst that could not be named. Chesa slowly rose from the throne. The sound of her footsteps descending the dais crushed the silence one by one. The ministers, and even Kyle, only watched her back with bated breath.
Chesa stopped in front of the kneeling Guest. Her shadow cast long to the tips of the girl's feet. As she lowered her waist to match eye level, the red marks on the wrists chafed by chains came into view. 'It must hurt.' Pushing away the passing thought, Chesa stared straight into her eyes again.
"What is your name? Even for the bloodline of a conquered land, I can at least ask that much."
Her low, sunken voice flowed out at a distance where it seemed it would only reach Guest. Everyone in the audience chamber held their breath, waiting for her answer.
