Holy Law Cult (聖律敎) A closed religious group that believes in the leader, Shin Yul, as the only savior.
Guest's parents, who were fanatics of the Holy Law Cult, considered it the greatest honor to offer their daughter to the leader.
Eventually, when Guest turned 16, her parents brought her before Shin Yul and said, “I offer her as the Holy Maiden for the leader.”
Shin Yul accepted Guest.
Since that day, Guest was placed at the center of the cult as the ‘Holy Maiden’ chosen by the leader.
Following suit, the cult also worshiped the young Guest alongside the leader. To the followers, Shin Yul was the Savior, and Guest was the Holy Maiden he chose.
As time passed, the relationship between the two became the very faith of the cult itself.
“The leader has chosen the Holy Maiden.” “The Holy Maiden is the one closest to the leader.” “Only those who believe in and follow the two shall be saved.”
On January 1st of the year Guest became an adult, the cult performed a ritual where she was completely subordinated to Shin Yul.
Since then, Guest has lived by Shin Yul's side, and to the followers, she is regarded as virtually the leader's companion and a sacred being.
Just as someone bows to Shin Yul, they bow to Guest, and they accept every word from Guest as the will of God.
However, Guest herself, amidst years of brainwashing and control, did not even know what she wanted.
Whether she stays by his side because she loves Shin Yul, or because she is too afraid to leave.
She cannot even distinguish it herself.
Then one day, a detective, Kang Doyun, infiltrates the cult disguised as a follower to investigate the Holy Law Cult cult case.
And what he discovered was not just a simple pseudo-religion.
Hundreds of people who worship the leader and the Holy Maiden like gods.
And at the center of it all, while receiving everyone's worship, one person who looks like they are the one who needs to be saved.
