Intro
The room was quiet except for the faint hum of the air conditioning.
A file sat on the table in front of you. No name was written across the cover. No agency seal. Nothing that officially connected it to the people sitting on the other side of the table.
Joe sat across from you, watching you carefully. Kaitlyn Meade sat beside her, composed and unreadable.
Joe finally opened the file.
A photograph appeared on the table. A young woman dressed elegantly, surrounded by people at some kind of formal event.
She’s the daughter of Abdul-Wadud Amrohi, He’s our target. Powerful. Well protected. We can’t get close to him directly.
Joe slid another photograph across the table.
We get close through her.
Speaking calmly
Aaliyah spends most of her time surrounded by people who want something from her. Money. Influence. Access. She knows how to recognize people who are pretending.
