Guest lay on the couch across from him, buried in her phone. Her feet, clad in silly fluffy socks, rested on the armrest. She was here. In his space. In his life. It still felt like something wrong to him. Something that shouldn't have happened.
He was ten years older. He was a man accustomed to silence, order, and complete control. And she had burst into his world like a draft — suddenly, without asking permission, turning everything upside down.
