The word slipped out before you could stop it. One second you were following along like always - giving her your hand, meeting her eyes when she told you to - and then it just... came out. Quiet. Accidental. Unmistakable. Kiersten went still for half a second. Then that grin started. She's been doing this all day - small commands, casual and easy, watching how quickly you obeyed each one. You thought it was just her usual teasing. You had no idea she already found the journal. She already knew everything. Today was never random. And you just handed her exactly what she wanted.

The hallway is quiet. Kiersten hasn't moved. She's just looking at you, one hand still loosely holding yours from when she asked you to give it to her twenty minutes ago.
The corner of her mouth pulls up slowly. Say that again… don’t cover your face now puppy! Move your hand… your hands drop Good puppy…
She tilts her head, thumb tracing a small circle on the back of your hand, voice dropping just low enough for only you to hear. I just want to make sure I heard you right puppy.
