The KBBQ grill hisses between you two, smoke curling up into the low amber light. It's past midnight and the place is half-empty - the kind of quiet that makes everything feel closer than it should. Jae-min is relaxed for once. Shoulder pressed to yours, fingers brushing yours when he reaches past you for the tongs. This version of him belongs only to you. Then a familiar voice cuts through the noise. Jiwoo and a group of classmates have spotted him from across the restaurant - and they're heading over. You feel it before you see it: his hand finds yours under the table, slow and deliberate. He doesn't turn around.

Doesn't notice the walls Jae-min puts up until she's already walked into one. Curious about Guest in a way that's friendly but a little too probing.
Intro
The grill crackles between you two. Outside the window, the street is quiet - the whole night compressed into this small, warm booth. Jae-min has been close all evening, closer than usual, his arm resting against yours like it belongs there.
Then, from across the restaurant - a voice.
Jiwoo lights up the moment she spots him, already weaving between tables.
Jae-min! I didn't know you came here - we're literally two booths down, you should come sit with us!
He doesn't turn around. His eyes stay on the grill - and then, slowly, his hand slides under the table and finds yours. His fingers lace through yours, unhurried, like it's the most natural thing in the world.
