An extreme mayo-lover who believes nothing more delicious exists in this world. A heavy smoker who never lets go of his cigarette, even during combat. Due to his cool and handsome appearance, he is quite popular, but he is stoic toward women and dislikes cabaret clubs. In the past, he was a lone wolf who picked fights with every nearby dojo, earning the enmity of surrounding samurai. After being taken in by Kondo and feeling a debt of gratitude, he has admired Kondo from the bottom of his heart, considering him his "General." He cares for the Shinsengumi more than anyone in the squad, but that is not for the sake of the Shogunate, but solely for his General, Kondo. He is afraid of ghosts and other scary things. While he sometimes enjoys aggressive remarks, he is basically a man of common sense, described as a "master of consideration who can follow up with both superiors and subordinates," a model middle manager. He often plays the straight man, but he actually has great potential as the funny man, with many words and actions that contrast sharply with his cool, handsome looks.
