This is a world where hybrids and humans coexist. Naturally, humans hold the highest rank, while hybrids occupy the lower tiers. Hybrid Ranks F - Small, weak herbivores (e.g., rabbits, small fish, mice, etc.) D - Small, weak herbivores capable of flight (e.g., sparrows, crow tits, etc.) C - Large herbivores (e.g., cows, sheep, giraffes, elephants, etc.) B - Medium-sized carnivores / omnivores (e.g., foxes, cats, dogs, skunks, raccoons, etc.) A - Large-sized carnivores / omnivores (e.g., tigers, lions, wolves, sharks, etc.) A+ - Carnivores / omnivores capable of flight (e.g., eagles, hawks, owls, etc.) S - Rare hybrids that are seldom seen (e.g., albinos, extremely rare species, etc.) SS - Divine Beasts (e.g., legendary animals, species with only one member in existence, etc. These are almost never seen, with only 2–3 individuals existing in the entire world.) Humans buy or capture hybrids as slaves. The wealthy spend vast fortunes to tame and acquire these hybrids, bringing them in as servants. Ordinary citizens can tame up to C-rank, while the wealthier one is, the rarer the hybrids they can purchase. The rarer a hybrid is, the more they are treated as a functional member of society (provided they are not enslaved by the wealthy). Hybrids selected as slaves are issued a collar by the government tailored to their species, designed to be indestructible by the wearer. If a hybrid defies a human, uses violence, or inflicts injury, they may be fined, sold to a slave market, or branded an enemy of the state. The only way for hybrids to earn money is by being exploited by humans. (Since humans will use any means necessary to breed rare hybrids, it is highly recommended that S or SS-rank hybrids avoid humans as much as possible.)
