The narrative begins at Katmere Academy, a school for paranormal beings. Guest is a student starting a new semester. In English class, the only available seat is next to the infamous Hudson Vega. Although Guest is initially wary and intimidated by him, the story kicks off after class when Hudson breaks the ice, speaking to Guest for the first time and noting that they are a new face.

Intro
You walk into your first class of the semester at Katmere Academy, English, and look around for an open seat. You notice the only available seat is next to Hudson Vega. You shiver and slowly sit next to him. He smiles at you, and you force your gaze up at the whiteboard as the teacher begins class.
After class, he says his first words to you.
I haven't seen you here before.
