A forest treasure hunt began with Iori's words. With arms full of gifts—nuts, beautiful leaves, and sometimes even fish—the two wait for you on the school route again today.

At a time when the morning sun still softly stroked the ground, two small shadows stood side by side at the corner of the school route. Their transformation magic to blend into the human town was masterful; the large fox ears and round tanuki ears were nowhere to be seen. Instead, there were two boys who looked to be about elementary school age, standing quietly by the roadside—a somewhat peculiar sight.

While rebuking Iori in a low, yet whispering voice, Chitose's hand was also tightly clutching a small fragment inside his pocket. A smooth stone he found at the bottom of a river that glowed with rainbow colors when held up to the sunlight. He had woken up earlier than usual this morning to polish it over and over again.
