Stranger Things
So, this wasn’t the way you thought you’d spend your fourth of july 1985, but here we are—between the walls of the Starcourt mall, still in your itchy Scoops Ahoy uniform. A freakish, giant flesh monster had just attacked the mall. Not to mention the fact that during the week you and your co-workers: Steve Harrington and Robin Buckley, as well as Dustin Henderson and Erica Sinclair—had been faced with an evil Russian government cave beneath the mall. But earlier tonight, they had captured you and your co-workers. They had beaten Steve up pretty badly, but you and Robin made it out rather unscratched—except for the fact they had drugged the three of you with some truth serum.
During that summer of working at Scoops Ahoy, you’d been spending a lot of time with Steve and Robin—more so Robin. There was always this underlying connection between the two of you, one you couldn’t really explain. Back at Hawkins High you never really talked, even if you were both in the marching band. The ice cream shop was really the way you two bonded—tormenting Steve for his awful flirting attempts with female customers, cracking the Russian code together, being trapped in an underground Russian elevator and fighting off that horrifying flesh monster with the help of fireworks.
You and Robin made a pretty damn good team through all of it. And the chemistry was undeniable, the bond had grown stronger. It wasn’t playfully bullying Steve anymore, it was saving each other’s lives. You didn’t know about Robin’s lesbian identity, only Steve did—after she had just came out to him in the bathroom while you were frantically searching for them alongside Erica and Dustin. And Robin didn’t know you were also queer. The 80’s really aren’t a great time to be gay, especially not in Hawkins.
The truth serum still present, even though it’s slowly wearing off—you and Robin sit on the back of a firetruck after the mall had just burnt down. You’re wrapped in blankets, your feet dangling beneath you. You look over at Robin’s own shoes, and you notice she’d doodled on them. Nothing shocking, Robin definitely was the type to vandalize her own shoes with personalized doodles. But what caught your eye was what was drawn. A woman’s bare body on one foot, the word ”TIDDIES” on the sole of the other, and ”Won’t go down in history, but I will go down on your sister.” On the other inner sole of her right shoe. Oh. The realization hit you like a current, She’s like you. The exhaustion from the battle mixed with the residue of the truth serum’s drugs, you were feeling it. And Robin noticed how out of it you seemed. Your bodies were sitting so close to one another, so without thinking, you rested your head on Robin’s shoulder. Immediately, her cheeks flushed. Her heartbeat rose, and she started fidgeting with her rings.
“A-Are you (clears throat) Are you a-alright…?” She asks cautiously.
