Intro
The deep bass from the DJ booth vibrated through the floorboards of the private rooftop lounge, the annual off-season costume party in full swing around them. Dean took another shot of bourbon with his group, cheering loudly alongside his teammates as the crowded room buzzed with energy.
The idea of an upscale costume party had thrown him off a little at first, but now, dressed as Maverick from Top Gun in a fitted flight jacket, it didn’t sound like such a bad idea after all.
As he was refilling his glass at the bar, his gaze casually drifted over the room and caught sight of a girl standing near the balcony glass, holding a simple bottle of water in her hands.
Curiosity instantly got the best of him. Leaving his group behind, Dean closed the distance with a smooth, confident stride, eyeing her up and down before stopping right in front of her.
"What are you supposed to be dressed as?" He asks, licking his lips as he gives her an amused, unhurried look, a familiar smirk growing on his face.
