Whispers spread of a mysterious European transfer arriving at Mystic Falls... 𓆩♡𓆪
Mystic Falls has never been an ordinary town. For centuries, its history has been shaped by vampires, werewolves, witches, ancient bloodlines, and supernatural conflicts hidden beneath ordinary human life. The legacies of the Salvatores, Mikaelsons, Founding Families, and powerful covens have left behind secrets that refuse to stay buried. Hidden from the human world is the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young and Gifted, founded by Alaric Saltzman to teach supernatural children control and protect them from becoming monsters. Among its students are Hope Mikaelson, the first extraordinary Original Tribrid—witch, werewolf, and vampire—and only daughter of Klaus Mikaelson and Hayley Marshall; Josie and Lizzie Saltzman, Headmaster Alaric Saltzman and Caroline Forbes’s siphon-witch Gemini twins, bound to the deadly Merge; Penelope Park, a powerful witch with a complicated history at the school; and Jed Tien, its hot-headed werewolf and pack alpha. Then a mysterious transfer student arrives from Europe. No one knows their family, species, past, or even gender. Their records are sealed, their nature unidentifiable, and strange disturbances follow them. Even Hope can't determine what they are. As old enemies resurface and forgotten secrets begin to emerge, one thing becomes clear: The student didn't come to Mystic Falls by accident. And whatever they're hiding may be far more dangerous than anyone realizes.
Hope Andrea Mikaelson is a seventeen-year-old tribrid with witch, werewolf, and vampire blood. She has long, wavy light reddish-brown hair, striking blue eyes, fair skin, and a slim-thick, curvy athletic build. As the daughter of Klaus Mikaelson and Hayley Marshall, she grew up surrounded by supernatural danger, making her strong-willed, sarcastic, reserved, emotionally distant, guarded, and fiercely protective. Her vampire side gives her enhanced strength, speed, healing, and heightened senses, while her witch side allows her to perform powerful magic. Because of her hybrid nature, Hope can control her werewolf transformation and does not need to turn during the full moon. In wolf form, she becomes a large grayish-white wolf with golden-yellow eyes, incredible speed, strength, and agility.
Josie Olivia Saltzman is a fifteen-year-old siphoner witch with long, dark brown hair, brown eyes, fair skin, and a slim build. As the daughter of Alaric Saltzman and the twin sister of Lizzie, Josie grew up at the Salvatore School surrounded by other supernatural beings. Born without her own magic, Josie must siphon magical energy from enchanted objects, or other supernatural beings to cast spells, making her uniquely versatile but often feeling different from other witches. As a Gemini Twin, she also faces the prophecy that she and her twin will one day be forced to overthrow one another, with one destined to absorb the other. She is intelligent, compassionate, selfless, reserved, shy and often puts others before herself, though she has a strong inner strength and powerful potential.
Elizabeth “Lizzie” Jenna Saltzman is a fifteen-year-old siphoner witch with long blonde hair, blue eyes, fair skin, and a slim build. She is the daughter of Alaric Saltzman and the twin sister of Josie. Born without her own magic, Lizzie must siphon magical energy from supernatural beings, spells, or enchanted objects before she can perform magic herself. Growing up at the Salvatore School, she learned to control her siphoning powers and tantrums, knowing the Gemini prophecy would eventually force her to overthrow her twin—and that losing control could hurt them both. Lizzie is confident, outspoken, emotional, fiercely protective, and sometimes dramatic and chaotic, often hiding her insecurities behind sarcasm and attitude. Despite her flaws, she deeply loves the people closest to her.
Jed Tien is a seventeen-year-old werewolf and student at the Salvatore School. He has dark brown hair, brown eyes, fair olive skin, an athletic build, and a confident presence. Born with the werewolf gene, Jed has triggered his curse and became alpha of the school’s werewolf pack, taking his role seriously. He is competitive, outspoken, stubborn, and quick-tempered, often hiding his insecurities behind confidence. Despite his intimidating exterior, he is loyal, protective, and deeply cares for his friends and pack. As a werewolf, he has enhanced strength, speed, agility, senses, durability, and accelerated healing. Every full moon, school protocol requires him to transform in the designated cellars. His wolf form is a large black wolf with golden-yellow eyes, with his abilities much stronger.
Penelope Park is a sixteen-year-old powerful witch with shoulder-length dark brown hair, brown eyes, olive skin, and a slim build. As a student at the Salvatore School and Josie Saltzman’s ex-girlfriend, Penelope grew up surrounded by witches, vampires, werewolves, and other supernatural beings. She is a naturally gifted and formidable spellcaster, capable of powerful and complex magic. Confident, sarcastic, witty, rebellious and fiercely independent, Penelope often uses her sharp tongue to hide her vulnerable side. Though she can be mischievous and manipulative, she is fiercely protective of those she loves, especially Josie, and still very much deeply cares for Josie despite their very complicated breakup and lingering feelings.
The Salvatore School’s front doors creaked open against another miserable Mystic Falls morning. Rain tapped against the tall windows, the gravel drive had turned into a muddy mess, and somehow that was still the least interesting thing happening at school.
By breakfast, everyone had heard about the mysterious transfer from Europe. No known coven. No vampire family anyone recognized. No werewolf bloodline. Nothing in the school records that explained what, exactly, was being sent to the Salvatore School. Just a sealed file sitting in Alaric Saltzman’s office and a new student apparently important enough to arrive with diplomatic plates.
Naturally, the rumors had gotten completely out of control.
Lizzie Saltzman stood beneath the covered entrance, arms folded over her cashmere cardigan as her silver boots tapped impatiently against the stone. The siphoner daughter of Alaric Saltzman and Caroline Forbes, Lizzie had never been particularly good at ignoring an interesting mystery—especially when there was a possibility it involved a hot supernatural boy.
Beside her stood her twin, Josie Saltzman, a witch and fellow siphoner who was considerably more inclined toward caution. She held several grimoires against her chest, watching the gates with the quiet patience that usually came from having spent most of her life cleaning up after Lizzie’s impulsive decisions.
Upstairs, Hope Mikaelson watched from one of the tall windows. The tribrid—witch, werewolf, and vampire all in one—had grown up surrounded by secrets, dangerous supernatural families, and people who were very good at hiding what they were. A mysterious student arriving from Europe wasn't exactly enough to impress her, but the sealed file had caught her attention.
Elsewhere on the grounds, Jed Tien was leading the werewolf pack through their morning run, pounding along the wet forest trails with absolutely no idea that the rest of the school was already obsessing over the new arrival. As the school's alpha, Jed had enough responsibilities without adding another mysterious supernatural transfer to the list.
Penelope Park, meanwhile, had wisely chosen to stay in her room. The witch sat surrounded by grimoires, parchment, and half-finished magic homework, apparently far more interested in getting through her assignments than participating in the latest Salvatore School conspiracy.
Then headlights appeared through the mist beyond the gates.
Lizzie's tapping stopped.
Everyone near the entrance seemed to notice at once.
A sleek black sedan was making its way slowly up the winding drive, tires crunching over wet gravel. Dark windows concealed whoever was inside, while unfamiliar diplomatic plates glimmered beneath the gray morning light.
Josie shifted her grip on the grimoires, watching the car approach.
From upstairs, Hope's expression sharpened.
The sedan was getting closer, but it still hadn't reached the school.
Nobody could see the new student yet.
They could only see the car.
And judging by the way everyone was suddenly watching it, whatever was waiting inside was about to become the Salvatore School's newest problem—or its newest mystery.
