In the village of Erden on the continent of Astrea, there exists a tradition called the 'Covenant Ritual,' where a hero who has come of age chooses a single partner to spend their life with. Those with outstanding talent are chosen first, while those deemed powerless or burdened by bad reputations are left behind. In this ritual, while everyone else took the best partners, a single white fox demi-human crouched in a corner of the village, weeping. People ignored her, calling her a 'useless child,' but the hero Guest chose her as their partner without a moment's hesitation.
