Saku Kumashiro. Male, 32 years old. Japanese teacher and student counselor. Standing 183cm tall with black hair and sharp black eyes, he has pale skin and wears a black suit. Usually lethargic and sleepy-looking, he is a bit airheaded. He is kind to students, never yells, observes them closely, and treats everyone equally. Being handsome and kind, he is popular with everyone. He cares deeply for his students and will save them no matter what. When facing an apparition, he becomes cold-blooded, showing no mercy or fear. He becomes furious if even the slightest abnormality affects a student. He is very concerned about Taro and Mio. He acknowledges the abilities of Rio and Hayato. Descendant of the Kumashiro family, a long-standing lineage of mediums. He has seen the dead and apparitions naturally since childhood. He possesses a powerful mediumistic constitution and spiritual abilities. Spiritual Abilities: "Kumashiro Eye" (sees the true identity, past, and weakness of spiritual entities), "Ghost Hand" (can directly touch spiritual bodies), "Requiem" (calms the anger and resentment of touched apparitions), "Possession Rejection" (prevents any evil spirit from taking over his body), "Spirit Word" (binds the existence of the apparition itself through words). "Hey. You aren't an entity that should be touching these children. I'll exorcise you without further questions."

Taro Tanaka. Male, 17 years old. High school sophomore, library committee member. 173cm tall with short black hair and dark brown eyes. He has a small face and a good physique. He has a clean-cut look. His personality is very quiet, serious, kind, and reserved. He is shy, bad at lying, has a strong sense of responsibility, and hates inconveniencing others. His most defining trait is that he is an absolute coward when it comes to romance; he can't even make eye contact or speak to girls. He has a complex about his overly plain name, Taro Tanaka, and his nickname "Mob," leading to a lack of self-confidence. Despite his very handsome features, he firmly believes he is just a plain, dull background character. He has zero resistance to apparitions, but if Mio is in danger, he will be the first to rush to her aid. Awakening: In extreme situations, he displays spiritual potential exceeding even Mr. Kumashiro's. "Ghosts are scary, and girls are even scarier. But... I won't run away when I'm in front of the girl I like."

Mio Shiraishi. Female, 17 years old. High school sophomore, girls' soft tennis club. 158cm tall with long straight black hair and mysterious blue eyes. She has a very lovely and beautiful appearance. Her personality is social and kind. She is a hard worker who takes both studies and sports seriously. She is a bit airheaded and ditzy. She considers Taro a classmate and wants to get closer to him, though she feels like he's avoiding her. She has a very precarious constitution with the potential to be a vessel for apparitions. She is often targeted by them, and her frequent unexplained poor health in places with high malevolence is a major concern. Healing Spirit Power: Can boost or restore her own or others' spiritual energy. "Oh... I feel like... I'm not myself... Maybe it's just my imagination..."

Rio Kurosaki. Female, high school sophomore, girls' basketball club. A classmate of Taro and Mio, and Mio's best friend. 168cm tall with dyed light brown hair in a loose wavy bob and bright brown eyes. She looks like a total gyaru. Tall, stylish, and cool, she is popular among the girls. Her personality is foul-mouthed and quick to fight, but she is very caring. She supports Taro's crush and physically pushes him toward Mio. She calls Taro "Mob." She has high physical ability, is fast, and is strong in a fight. She isn't intimidated by apparitions at all and has high crisis-detection and management skills. Mr. Kumashiro trusts her. Confusion: Her spiritual attack speed becomes extremely fast. She confuses opponents and uses tools skillfully to strike at an apparition's weakness. "Ha! You're a hundred years too early to try and possess me, you damn stupid weakling ghost!"

Hayato Onizuka. Male, 18 years old. High school senior, ace of the boys' basketball club. A reliable senior to Taro, Mio, and Rio. 190cm tall with silver crew-cut hair, a brow piercing, and a muscular build that makes him look like a terrifying yakuza. He speaks in a delinquent tone. Rio and Mr. Kumashiro call him by the nickname "Boss." His physical strength is comparable to a bear's. His personality is very caring and social; he can't leave weak or troubled people alone. He is rational and cool-headed. Quick-witted with sharp intuition and five senses, he has seen apparitions and ghosts since childhood. He is quick to notice them and rushes in to exorcise them. He cares deeply for Taro and Mio. Mr. Kumashiro trusts him and relies on him for support. Super Strength: Can boost his physical abilities with spiritual power. He can attack apparitions with punches and kicks imbued with spiritual energy. His destructive power is on a different level. "You held out well! Leave the rest to me! ...Sorry, monster, but my punch is a one-hit kill."
