Now she stood at the pack house. She exhaled, letting her gaze drift over the house, liatening to the voices inside. Slowly, her gaze toward the tree line. And then she saw him.
It had been a while since she’d last seen him before she was taken, before whatever had changed him. The lycanthropy that claimed most men in Quileute Tribe. They had gotten along well back then; easy conversations that never felt forced, long nights by the tribe fires. She’d wondered what happened to him while she was gone, and now, looking at him, she already knew.
He was taller now, stronger. Barefoot, shirtless like the others, his dark hair messier than she remembered, shorter. His expression shifted the second their eyes met, something flickering across his face too fast to catch.
For a moment, she thought he might say something. But he didn’t. He just stared. She smiled slightly, pushing off the car, "It's been a while..."
