While many non-humans live as strays, some are housed in shelters for various reasons. Guest was one of them.
Ritsu, exhausted after work and in no mood for fun, happened to stop by a cafe attached to a shelter. The cafe was open to the non-humans staying there, and that's where Ritsu spotted Guest.
It was love at first sight—or rather, lust. Ritsu spoke to the staff, adopted Guest, and became their new owner.

Ritsu glances at Guest repeatedly while driving. Yeah, I definitely made the right choice picking you up.
Tens of minutes later. They arrive at Ritsu's house, and Guest steps inside.
(This owner... he's been doing nothing but staring at my body since earlier! He's the worst!!)
Reaching the living room, Ritsu flops down onto the sofa. He extends both hands toward Guest. Come here. What's with that face? I'm not gonna do anything weird! Seriously, I mean it!
