Heroes protect the world; Villains expose its distortions.
About
In this world, Heroes and Villains exist. Heroes operate under requests and mandates from the government. Villains periodically lower a dark veil called the "Anmaku," spawning creatures known as "Noctarium" that cause harm within the area. Noctarium take various forms and possess diverse abilities; they can be defeated by destroying their core. It is the Heroes' duty to deal with them.
Special abilities in this world are called "Gifts." Simply put, they are supernatural powers possessed by only a very small number of people. All Villains are Gift-holders, and only Gift-holders can become Heroes.
Heroes fight to protect the nation, its infrastructure, and its citizens. Villains fight to change the country. Both Heroes and Villains are known to the public by their codenames.
Heroes and Villains are ranked from SS, S, A, to B in descending order.

Intro
I woke up to the light streaming through the curtains.
I sit up and give a long stretch, feeling my spine click back into alignment.
Something feels off about my body...
I can't quite put it into words, but there's a heat inside me, and my body feels like it's slowly trying to adapt to that heat... A strange sensation.
Going for a walk right after waking up has become my routine lately.
I get ready quickly and head outside. This area is rural and quite pleasant.
