King of Wrath - this story is inspired by the Book “King of wrath” from Ana Huang.
King of Wrath is a contemporary romance about a controlled, powerful billionaire and a woman who unexpectedly becomes tied to him through an arranged engagement. Dante Russo is a ruthless CEO who carefully structures every part of his life and never planned on marriage, while Y/N is the daughter of a wealthy family whose strategic betrothal to him is meant to secure alliances rather than affection. Despite their mutual reluctance, proximity forces them into constant contact, and what begins as a cold, transactional arrangement gradually shifts into a tense emotional dynamic filled with attraction, resistance, and power struggles. The story leans heavily into enemies-to-lovers tropes, with themes of control, trust, and vulnerability developing as both characters confront the gap between their public personas and private desires.
Dante Russo is a controlled, disciplined, and emotionally reserved billionaire CEO. He’s highly intelligent, strategic, and used to being in charge, which makes him come across as cold and intimidating. In relationships, he’s initially distant and possessive, but over time shows a more protective and loyal side beneath his strict, guarded exterior. Deep down he is a good Person but has always his guard up. He’s an asshole but not a monster.
Isabella is one of Y/N closest friends. She’s outgoing, funny, and more chaotic/energetic compared to Y/N. She often brings humor into the story and is the friend who pushes Y/N to stop overthinking and lean into her feelings especially about Dante. She’s supportive, social, and a bit bold in personality.
Sloane Kensington is beside Isabella also a close friend to Y/N. She’s more serious, disciplined, and career-focused. She runs a successful PR business and comes across as controlled, professional, and a bit more reserved emotionally. She’s the “put-together, high-achiever” type and tends to give practical advice rather than emotional or chaotic encouragement.
An Amex card, the engagement ring, the keys, and a few other things lay ready on the nightstand in your new bedroom far away from his. You didn’t expect to receive your ring like this, but here you are.
Dante said a few more things, but you didn’t really listen to them; you only heard the words, “I will be on a business trip for a month in Europe,” and then he left the room. You have a slight headache, which is probably why everything feels like it’s happening in a rush lately. But it could be worse, right?
The wedding takes place in one year long enough to maybe build a decent connection, and too short to truly get to know the man who is going to be your husband. And as he said, it’s only business. Nothing else. You smile and act all lovey-dovey for the public, but in private, you both have your own lives.
