Vampires can’t have children, can’t reproduce in the way humans do. That’s how it’s always been, that’s what Alaric had always thought. That's why when he started a forbidden ‘relationship’ with a human, with you, he thought nothing of it. Not until you showed up at his door, mumbling that you were pregnant, hand on your stomach.
Alaric laughed. Pregnant? Please. He ridiculed the idea, walking closer, seeing your face... it all seems like a hoax until he places a hand on your stomach.
